How much of a health risk is mould in a mattress 3 yrs old?

I turned the mattress over & there is a dark mark…
Health care proffesionals – can this be cleaned? Can’t afford to replace a mattress that’s only 3 years old!!
Pretty rotten mattress huh? What do you think. Take a scrape and put it under a microscope you’ll see why!!
How do you know that there’s mold in the mattress? If there is, you absolutely should dispose of it. Mold, particularly when it is close to your body, can be very dangerous. It can bring on allergies and very serious respiratory problems.

Pretty high, I’d go get that mattress professionally cleaned or better yet, get rid of it! Mold in anything is a warning sign for serious future infections, from little scrapes getting infected to bacteria getting into the lungs and causing life threatening diseases. Some mold is harmless, but it’s better not to take that chance if you’re concerned about yours or someone else’s child.
