www.HowToHomeInsulation.com – Killing toxic black mold is easier than you might think. Just be safe and take the necessary precautions when removing large areas of mold. In this video you’ll learn how to remove mold according to the most of the EPA recommendations. The complete EPA Guide to Mold Removal is available at http
I have been in the business since 1989. I am really happy this worked out for you because the odd were heavily stacked against you. Please… Please. NOBODY should be encouraged to expose yourself to any mold, mildew or active bacteria growing inside your home. Many types of mold will fairly quickly attack your nervous system. If your not a pro… walk away.
When I pulled out my attic insulation, I let my Shop-Vac run to suck as much airborne crap into it as possible.
@SovereignBeing you need to take mold samples if you want to know the sp. – first thing to do is stop the moisture intrusion or build up of moisture from the inside – you’ll need to remove all that drywall as the mold is likely on the backside of the drywall too – maybe you did that and I didn’t see that in the video – containment would be better in a small area – less cross contamination in the rest of the room – be sure to wipe down the rest of the containment area.
@assman778 i contracted black and white mould from my gym - its not this bad as ive just done a renovation.. its the one that eats through metal – do u know what type that is.. ?
damn mold
Good advice: in cold times like winter, move furniture like bookshelves, cabinets, refrigerators etc. 5-10cm in from the walls to avoid moisture traps behind them.
@assman778 Strangely enough I did not get sick or have any problems.
According to the EPA, jobs this size are manageable with the right precautions. I followed their advice and came out fine on the other side.
good luck with your lungs after this work – you needed negative air pressure otherwise all them mold spores were in the air when no mask was being worn… get a professional for this level of contamination
Great video. You are a smart and brave man in my book
I used a product called Concrobium Mold Control. It works a little better than bleach because it creates a long lasting coating that crushes the micro-organisms. It was about $9 at Lowes. Well worth the money for a little piece of mind.
my shed floor was rotting and consumed by some really rhizomorphic white and black molds… i took out the wood, but I want to make sure the dirt/wood below is sterilized before I put new wood in. Any suggestions on how to do this? I’ve been spraying it with bleach.
Have Fun:) Make sure you have plenty of black construction garbage bags and some duct tape or zip ties to seal them up good.
I’ll try this
